Room A: Health is a gift you give yourself: Reclaim Your Life - Intro to Lifestyle Medicine

Presenter: Dr. Kortnee Cooper

Board Certified Family Medicine and Obesity Medicine doctor will give tips regarding eating healthfully, being physically active, managing stress, avoiding risky substance abuse, adequate sleep and having a strong support system can help one’s health.

11:30-12:00

Room A: Meditation for the renewal, revitalization and release of the mind, body, spirit

Presenter:  Adrienne Yvette Cherry

Yoga Nidra is a type of meditation that can be guided to assist in calming and relaxing the body to help alleviate stress, anxiety, and depression. The presenter will use this method to help guide participants to relax their mind, body, and spirits.

Room B/C: Yoga: Go with the Flow

Presenter: Y.E.S Yoga LLC

Join certified Yoga instructor, S. Jae Ali for a stimulating Vinyasa yoga session. Learn the techniques of breathing and movement. Open to all levels beginner to advanced.

Room A: Container Gardening - Vegetables and Herbs

Presenter: Master Gardeners Nadine Harris Clark and Karin Grear

Ms. Harris-Clark and Ms. Grear are more than just gardening enthusiasts, they are trained horticultural experts who serve their communities through service projects and delivery of educational programs.  The mission of the University of Illinois Extension Master Gardener program is "Helping Others Learn to Grow." Master Gardeners involve people in improving the quality of life by helping them find sound management practices for home and urban natural resources, by creating aesthetically pleasing environments, by promoting well-being through people-plant interactions and horticultural therapy, and by contributing to a safe, abundant food supply through home fruit and vegetable production. Demonstration is scheduled for 20 minutes for the creation of the planters and 10 minutes to take questions.

Room B/C: Healthy at Home

Presenter: Bryeasha Blair.

What’s your work out routine? Were you prepared when Covid closed the gyms? Join Coach Blair for a 30-minute interval style training session focused on full body strength exercises and movements. Learn how to use household items such as napkins and bathing towels as workout equipment. Never be affected by a closed gym again!

Presenter: Bryeasha Blair

Join fitness trainer Coach Blair for an introductory full body cardio session.  This class will utilize interval training with functional body weight movements, no equipment needed!  Join this class to start a new habit.

Join these outstanding mental health professionals as they challenge you to “Check Your Bags” and explore how stress affects individuals both mentally and physically. Break the stigma of talking about mental health and make sure you get this information for yourself and your friends!

Presenter: Audrey L. Tanksley MD

Dr Tanksley is an Integrative Internal Medicine doctor with subspecialty in Addiction Medicine.  She has been a thought leader, educating medical providers and communities on cannabis medicine since 2015.  She has certified thousands of patients over the years and has an intimate knowledge of endocannabinology.  If you have considered using cannabis as a part of your wellness regimen, or have just want to learn more, then join this session!
